It is with great pleasure that I present my mixed bag to the bicycle world!

After years in the bicycle retail sector, it became evident that the standard of mechanical services offered by bike shops was suprisingly poor. It appeared that most mechanics really did not posess much in terms of mechanical ability or understanding, and therefore the quality of work was less than satisfactory.

Bicycles have become very high tech and with this comes a high price tag, and thus require a high standard of mechanical services.

Customers are being pressured into buying new bikes or components just because a store mechanic is incapable of carrying out the repairs.

It seems that the hard sell is easier than the hard work. And it seems even harder for stores to source good mechanics, tending to hire younger people who try to make up for with enthusiasm what they lack in ability, and are cheaper to employ. The need for a new standard in bicycle mechanical services is evident, and the time is now.

It is these reasons that have driven me to break away from the mainstream to create my own identity as a mechanic. I have chosen not to do retail, choosing instead to rely on my mechanical services, and spare parts (including a collection of quality refurbished second hand parts), wealth of knowledge and sound advice.
